Just a quick little note...

Hey everyone! I just wanted to pop in real quick and let you know that I probably won't have any posts for this week or next. There has been so much going on here lately that I'm about to pull my hair out! We also got bad news today. Winston's (my hubby) cousin lost his battle with cancer today. So I know I'm not going to have any crafting time. Next week Winston is taking his vacation and I'm not sure what all we will be up to then just going to have to play it by ear. I just didn't want anybody to think I've went missing! I feel really bad that I'm missing some of my challenges for the DT's that I am on but I've contacted them all and explained. I will be back just as soon as I can! Oh by the way Friday is me and Winston's birthday!! I'll be 42 and he is turning 43! We are becoming old farts ha ha!!! One good thing about having the same birthday is that we can't forget each others!! Well, I'm heading off to bed I'm exhausted and have a long day ahead of me tomorrow!!

Practical Scrappers,Stuck On U Sketches, Frosted Designs Triple Challenge!

As I mentioned in my last post we are having a Triple Challenge over at Practical Scrappers with Frosted Design and Stuck On U Sketches. I combined all the three challenges in this layout. Our challenge at Practical Scrappers is to use three ribbons. The challenge at Frosted Designs was to use a owl on your project and I used the sketch from Stuck On U Sketches. The owls were cut from the Slice Fall Back To School Design Card. The branch is from the Home Decor Cricut cartridge. The heart is from the George and Basic Shape Cartridge. The word love is from A Childs Year and I welded the Owl and U to it with DS. The word forever is from the Stamping cartridge (it did say forever & ever but cut  & ever off). The owls eyes are a flower cut from Graphically Speaking and just added a brad in the center. Whew, I didn't really realize how many cartridges I used and how bad I really missed my Gyspy!!! Speaking of my Gyspy I am having to return it and ProvoCraft is replacing with a new one. I've got it all boxed up and ready for Fed X to pick up tomorrow. The customer service guy I spoke to said it could take up to 4 weeks to get my new one back!! Arrr wasn't to happy with that but not much I can do about it!! Be sure to check out all three of these challenge blogs and come join in on the fun! Thanks for looking!!

Practical Scrappers Challenge

Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a great Halloween! I know we did! Me and my husband enjoyed seeing all the little one's dressed in their spooky costumes! This is one of my hubbies favorite holidays! He loves passing out candy to the kiddies! This week over at Practical Scrappers we are doing our first ever triple challenge with Frosted Designs and Stuck On U Sketches! Our challenge at Practical Scrappers is using three ribbons. I have been wanting to try two different techniques for quite a while with ribbon so this challenge was fun for me! I made the flower with ribbon. First start off by cutting a piece of ribbion 3/4 inch wide and 12 inches long. Divide this strip into 4 seperate 3 inch pieces. Then cut another strip 1/2 wide and 10 inches long. Divide this strip into 4 seperate 2 1/2 inch strips. Layers the strips on top of one another with the smaller on top of the larger strips. Then tack together with needle and thread and add button. For the ribbon around the frame I used my zip dry glue to do the scrunching technique. For the third ribbon nothing fancy just tied it around my photo! I made this layout before my Gyspy died on me so I used the following cartridges Gyspy Font, Gyspy Wanderings, and Storybook. The paper is by Crate. This is a photo of my mom when she was a little girl. I love this picture of her! Be sure to head over and check out the details for the challenge! I know that each blog will be giving away a prize so head on over and join in on the fun!! Also, our new DT members have been announced so be sure to leave them some love and learn a little about them! Thanks for looking and any comments are appreciated!

A moment of silence please....

My Gyspy is dead! I did the lastest update today and it KILLED IT. It's froze up! I've called CS (twice by the way) and all I found out is that they have pulled the update (a little to late for me now sniff, sniff) and put my name on a list to be called back tomorrow. I'm guessing it will have to be sent back and fixed but oh that's going to be such a HEADACHE! I was whining to my hubby about it as soon as he came in from work but I think it went in one ear and out the other sooooo I now I'm whining to ya'll!!! This sucks so bad...but I guess there are worst things going on in the world today! Ok, I'm picking myself back up and trying to dry my tears!! Thanks for letting me vent!!!!

Whimsical Scraps And Bugs Anniversary Challenge #3

Hey everyone! We are still celebrating our year anniversary over at Whimsical Scraps & Bugs!! Challenge #3 was to use a cupcake on a card, layout, or altered item. I chose to do a card since it's hard (to me) to make a layout using a cupcake when you have a boy! I used Wild Card Cartridge for my cupcake. My plans was to use the card feature on this cartridge (the cupcake card) I used my Gyspy and got the sizing all wrong and it turned out to small hee hee! So instead of starting all over I just used it for the embellishment on this card!! The flower is cut from Graphically Speaking four times and layered. I used the I-top for my brad (first time for this!!) The sentiment is a Studio G stamp and used a MS punch for the lace cardstock. This is also for Practical Scrappers. The challenge over at Practical Scrappers this week is using punches. Thanks for looking and hop over and see all the other yummy cupcakes the other DT members made!! It will make your mouth water with delight!! Also, check out Practical Scrappers and play along this challenge is a easy one and lots of fun to!

Practical Scrappers Punch Challenge

Happy Monday!! The challenge over at Practical Scrappers this week is to do a layout using punches. I love punches! I have a whole big collection of them so I had a hard time deciding which I wanted to use! Since I had one more picture of Kyle dressed for Halloween (this page goes with the other one I did for LSS) I used my drippy goo punch and my little owl punch. The tree, crow, and ghosts are cut from the cricut cartridge Paperdolls. Be sure to head over to Practical Scrappers and see the other DT members layouts and join in on the challenge! We would love to have you play along! Thanks for looking and I hope you have a wonderful week!!

I'm Back!!

Wasn't gone long huh?? I have some good news and I have some bad news! I'll start with the bad...our friend is going to order the memory (didn't have any of the kind we need and believe me this is all way over my head I know nothing about computers!!). We could have went to Best Buy and purchased but where he gets his is a whole lot cheaper so we went that route! The good news is I was able to bring my tower back home and I'm able to get back online till it arrives! I don't know if I could have survived days without my computer! We went to Red Lobster afterwards they are having their all you can eat shrimp going on and I am MISERABLE. We never eat this late so I'm pretty sure it's going to be hard sleeping this full!! But boy was it good!! Well, just wanted to say I'm back for now! I hope everyone has a great weekend (even thou it's just about gone sniff, sniff) Later!!

Memory Upgrade!!

Ha ha!! I just read my title back and that sounded kinda funny lol! I wished I could do a memory upgrade on my brain but the kind of upgrade I'm talking about is on my computer! Just thought I would make a quick post and not really sure this is even going to happen but...we need to add some more memory to our computer it is getting slower and slower and tried today to upgrade my security suite and it won't let me due to not enough. So...we called up one of our friends that is a genious with computers (actually going to college to be a computer tech) and he wants us to bring him the tower tonight and let him see what we need. If it's not going to cost way to much I'm going to leave it with him so we will be without till he can get it fixed. Just thought I'd share in case anybody wonders where I'm at!

Cuttlebug GiveAway from SVG Cuts!!

Just wanted to give a heads up that SVG Cuts is giving away a Cuttlebug to one lucky person!! Contest ends Oct. 25 so you better head over pretty quick to get entered in! For all the details on how to enter click here. Good luck!!!

Lindsay's Stamp And Stuff Thursday! Happy Haunting!

Hey everyone! Hope everyone is having a great week so far! I spent the day cleaning my house today and sooo glad that's behind me (well at least for a couple of days hee hee) Having all guys in the house sometimes is a challenge keeping things tidy!! I did manage to squeeze in a quick layout for this Thursday's LSS. I'm still in the Halloween mood so I dug up a older picture of Kyle (2005) to scrap! This was taken on one our camping trips. We use to camp with several different families on Halloween and let the kids dress up and take them all trick or treating together! This was the first year that Kyle dressed up as something spooky (he's the one on the far right). He was never really into the scary costumes till this year and he wanted something extra creepy and I do believe this fit the bill! I used three of the stamps from Lindsays Creepy Crow Set. This is one of my favorite sets! I just love the spooky looking tree! The great thing about digital stamps is that you can make them whatever size you want! I just printed out on some cardstock and I used my prima pencils to color in some green for the grass. On the journaling tag I outlined everything with my zig pen and then poured black glitter (such a mess lol) over it to give it some sparkle. I then used my oval nesties to cut the scallop and regular oval and printed Happy Haunting out on white cardstock. I added some gems that I've been hoarding forever and some ribbon. Just wondering does anybody else do that?? Hoard stuff?? I have a hard time using some things because I know when it's gone it's gone!! Maybe it's just me hee hee! Anyway, this is a pretty simple layout but I'm pleased with the results! Sometimes simple is all it needs! Be sure to head over to Lindsay's store she's still having her sale for every $5 you get a free stamp! And if you don't have this set be sure to get it! It's awesome! Be sure to check Lindsay's blog out for this weeks freebie and the DT to see what goodies they have come up with! Thanks for looking! Have a great Thursday and thanks for stopping by!!

Last but certainly not least is Practical Scrappers! I've just had the pleasure of being on this team for two weeks now but I can defintely tell you that Christine and Angela are two awesome ladies! Practical Scrappers Office Supply Challenge

Hey ya'll! Happy Monday!! This weeks challenge over at Practical Scrappers is Office Supplies. You can use paper clips, staples, notebook paper (which I used), brads, eyelets etc....I had one piece of this notebook paper that I had bought from HL along time ago and forgot I had it and I also got to use a punch that I purchased and have never used (go me!!) The punch is a EK Success punch (not sure of the name but it looks like paper that has been torned from a spiral notebook) The paper is by K&Company and I found the paper stack on clearance this weekend for $4.00 at HL (go me again!!) I used the Gyspy and Gyspy Wanderings to cut the shape of the girl and boy (added a fabric flower w/rhinestone on the ponytail and a little gem on the boy) The butterfly, flower and leaves I have had made but not used. I have a pile of things I've made for projects and then they don't work for one reason or another! I throw nothing away!! The butterfly was stamped twice and glue dotted together and the flower has pop dots in between. My DH laughed when he seen me working on this layout! He said we (my brother and me) were some homely (not sure of the spelling)) looking kids in this picture and I totally agree! Bless mother she loved us anyway! I called her after I got thru to help me with the journaling (which she still couldn't tell me how old we were) but she was able to give me a little info. I can't say we were dirt poor when I was little but I know things were hard back then for them. My dress in this picture was made from scraps from one of my grandmothers dress she had made (sure wished I had a picture of her in her dress wouldn't that be neat). This was our Easter outfits. Mother said I had alot of my clothes hand sewed for me when I was little! I don't know if I mention this enough but I have GREAT parents! We are soooo close and I love them dearly! I could really get mushy talking about them but I will spare you (this time hee hee) Be sure to come play along at Practical Scrappers and also check out what the other DT members used for their office supply challenge! Thanks for looking!! Have a great week!

Cindy is giving new challenges out every week thru October so be sure to come play along and help us celebrate!! This challenge was to make a card using this photo for inspiration and to use your cricut. I chose the Cricut Cartridge Celebrations (makes sense huh??) to cut the flag banner,Celebration, and the cupcake. I used my nestie for the scallop circle. I also got to use my drippy goo punch for the very 1st time (so exciting hee hee)! I kept it kinda simple since Tuesday is my dad's birthday and this is going to be his birthday card! Again, be sure to head over to Whimsical Scraps & Bugs and play along and check out what the other DT members came up with!

Scrappy Frogs Challenge 2-5-7-10 Box!

Hey everyone! IT'S FRIDAY!!!!! Anybody got big plans for the weekend?? I'm not sure what I'm going to be doing! My boys have rc races tonight and tomorrow sooooo it's looking like I may be alone for the majority of the weekend! I would go with them but the temperature is really dropping and getting pretty chilly outside and I don't like it well enough to freeze to death!! I'm thinking maybe a shopping trip is what I really want to be doing hee hee!! Anyway, on to my project! The challenge this time over at Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog was to make a 2-5-7-10 box! Here is the link to the instructions so you can make one to!! I used my Everyday Paper Dolls to make this little guy and the pumpkin. I also cut some grass from Zooballoo but you can hardly see it since it's in the background. Did some doodling and added some stickles. I also added some glossy accents to his eyes to make them shine. Be sure to head over to Scrappy Frogs to see what the other DT members have made and also play along! These little boxes are fun to make! Thanks for looking! Have a great weekend!!!

Lindsays Stamp And Stuff - Sketchy Thursday Challenge

Hey everyone! Hope everyone is having a great week! It's been raining here which makes it kinda gloomy! It's suppose to really get cold by the weekend and so not looking forward to that! I already miss summer! But the bright side I love fall colors! This layout is serving two purposes this week...Lindsay's Stamp & Stuff and the challenge over at Sketchy Thursdays. I'm really suppose to post Lindsays tomorrow but I wanted to be able to enter in at Sketchy Thursdays and get in on the drawing! I'm sure Lindsay will understand! Lindsay has come out with more new stamps this week so be sure to head over and check out her shop and also her blog for some freebies. For every $5 you spend you get a free stamp and with all the new ones she has came out with lately this is a great way to add to your collection!! For this layout I used her new Maple Leaf Stamp which I really, really love!! I just printed it on different color cardstock and handcut them out. I used my Gyspy to cut the circle and the PP from George and Basic Shapes. The PP is by The Paper Studio. The tree, owl, word bubble, and the word fall is cut out using the Slice Fall Back to School Design Card. The apple is a Martha Stewart punch and I added stickles. The orange cardstock I used a punch by EK Success. Be sure on Thursday to check out all the other DT members blogs and just a reminder from earlier Lindsay will have a freebie tomorrow on her blog so don't miss that!! Also, be sure to head over to Sketchy Thursdays their sketches are always so fun!!

Practical Scrappers Lace Card Stock Challenge

Hey again! I'm posting this late (good thing I'm not getting paid to be on a DT or it's a full time job because I would be soooooo fired) I tried really hard getting this finished last night but sniff, sniff just didn't make it. The challenge this week on Practical Scrappers is to use lace cardstock. And again I found that I didn't have any!! (mental note to self MUST GO SHOPPING!!!) I have DS (by no means a expert at it!!) and decided to see if I could make my own. I took the snowflake from Joys of the Season and created this background paper. After it was cut out (which really took along time because of all the details) I used stickles to add some sparkle. The snowman was cut from Christmas Cheer. For the title I used my Gyspy and the Gyspy font. These pictures are from 2000 Kyle was 6 years old. I just love the one of his back side hee hee!! Thanks for looking!!

Whimsical Scraps And Bugs Blogiversary Challenge!

Hello everyone!! This month we are celebrating our one year anniversary at Whimsical Scraps & Bugs! Cindy has some great challenges lined up and also some great guest designers for the month of October. We would love for you to come play along! There is a new challenge issued each week. This challenge was a 3-2-1 challenge. 3 colors -orange, purple, black 2 stars -from any cricut cartridge of your choice 1- stamped image. This was a hard challenge for me! The color purple and the stars just kept throwing me for a loop!! Looked all thru my paper and of course no luck on finding anything that worked so I had to use just cardstock! Not really thrilled with this card at all but I swore I wouldn't give up (which I almost did several times hee hee) The other DT members came up with some awesome projects so be sure to head over and check them out. The new challenge has been posted for this week so come play along!!! Thanks for looking!!

A Fall Card!

Hey Ya'll!! Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. Nothing much going on around my house it's just been one of those lazy days! We did manage to run into town early this morning and I sweet talked my hubby into running me by HL! I needed to run in for some ribbon (really that's all I needed hee hee) but something about walking into that place makes me sooo weak I HAVE TO LOOK!!! I'm glad I did or I wouldn't have been able to finally get the drippy goo punch that I've been looking for a year for!! I also found a Slice Design Card on clearance that I was wanting so it was a double score!! I was the lucky winner of the Making Memories Slice at Scrap Pink a couple of weeks ago. Since I was sick and its taken me forever to get better I'm just now really getting able to play around with it! I can already tell I'm going to love this little machine! In fact this whole card was made with it except for the leaves and they were made with Marvy punches.I still feel like I'm off with my projects. I'm struggling with coming up with ideas and when I do they just don't seem to turn out as nice as I would like.I still have some new toys I need to play with and hoping it gets my mojo flowing again. I got the I-top (anyone else have it??) and the Gyspy. I have been playing with the Gyspy trying to learn my way around it. At first I wasn't so sure if I was going to love it or not but the more I mess with it the more I'm falling for it! I just wished that Provo Craft will hurry and do the updates to it that were promised. Well, I guess that's all for tonight. Have a great weekend!!

I'm Back and it's Lindsay's Stamp & Stuff Thursday!

I'm back and feeling much better!!! This has been the longest I have ever went without posting something on my blog!!! I also just want to say thanks for all the emails and comments wishing us well. I am sooo blessed to have met AND made so many good friends thru my blogging journey. I love you all!! One more thing before I get on to my card I just also wanted to say that I'm sorry that I haven't been around commenting on blogs for the last couple of weeks and there's probably no way I would ever be able to catch up but I'm now getting back on more and promise to be stopping by soon!! Ok, now to the card! I chose to use one of the images from Lindsay's Creepy Crow Stamp Set. This is truly a awesome set that she has made and the set comes with six other images all for $5.oo. My brain is still trying to get back into the groove of things and this image is just so easy to use! I just printed in out on some cardstock and cut out with my nesties easy peasy!! The paper I used is from My Minds Eye (wished I could afford to have every line that they put out just love their paper!) I hand cut the ghost (I was actually to lazy to cut one with my cricut hee hee) and the sentiment is a Studio G stamp. I started out using the Mojo Monday sketch but somewhere I started going South and just ended up with this! Be sure to check out all the other DT members blogs to see what awesome projects they come out with this week. Also, Lindsay is releasing a new stamp set Funky Forest and will be offering up a freebie on her blog to go with it. She also has a tutorial on scence building with digi stamps that you won't want to miss! Click here! Thanks for stopping by and have a great Thursday!!!

Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog - Kiss Me Layout

Good afternoon everyone! It's time again for the Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog! The new challenge will be posted tomorrow but I'm going ahead and posting mine now. We had some really bad storms last night and was without power and they are saying more for tonight and in the morning. So just to be on the safe side I'm posting this now! Our challenge was to create something using a frog. I used the frog from the new cricut cartridge Sweethearts. Isn't he just the cutest?? The heart and kiss me were also cut from this cartridge. The grass with the cattails were cut from the new Cricut Everyday Paper Dolls (this cartridge is LOADED with extras!) I can't really believe I used these pictures they are HORRIBLE!!! They were taken on one of our many camping trips and well let's just say we don't worry to much about style out in the woods ha ha!! This layout was a real quick and simple layout not alot of extras but it was still fun to do! Hope you enjoy and be sure to head on over to Scrappy Frogs and play along!

Yipee, Yipee, Yipee!! I'm so excited!

I'm sooo excite my layout got chose as the top 5 fave on Sketchy thursdays!!! I just feel honored! I never get "show cased" very much and just excited and wanted to share!! Click here for the post!

Lindsay Stamp & Stuff Halloween card!!

Hello everyone! Guess what time it is? Yep, it's Lindsay's Stamp & Stuff Thursday! I was really worried about getting my card finished tonight. We have had some pretty bad storms this evening and was without power for about 3 hours (Yuck!) This week I decided to combine Lindsay's stamps with my cricut and create another Halloween card. I used Lindsay's Spooky Pumpkins and the crow from her new set that she just released this week Creepy Crow Stamp Set. This set is totally awesome and comes with 7 images all for $5! I colored my images with my Prisma Pencils. I made my own background paper by sponging white and blue ink (trying to represent a night sky). The grass was cut from Zooballoo and Plantin Schoolbook. The fence was cut from Everyday Paper Dolls along with the cat. The tree was cut from the regular Paper Dolls and trimmed to fit the side of the card. The stamp is a Studio G stamp. Be sure to check out what the other DT members came up with this week and also be sure to check out Lindsay's blog for a freebie!!! Thanks for looking!!

Sketchy Thursday Layout - Unique

Hey everyone! Here is my take on the sketch from Sketchy Thursdays. As soon as I saw the sketch I knew I wanted to play along! My problem is sticking to the sketch! I took these pictures of the Pelican on our vacation and for some reason they were just screaming for me to scrap them hee hee! I also got happy with the Prima flowers. I don't get to use flowers very often so this was really fun! The frame cut is from the Stamping cartridge and unique was cut from Winter Woodland. I used skittles for the center of my flowers and I'm sitting here trying to rack my brain to remember who the paper is by (sorry) Thanks for looking and be sure to check out Sketchy Thursdays they are giving away some great blog candy! Have a great night!

My 1st Pop Up Layout using Sweethearts!!

Let me start off by saying sorry for the push pin in the first photo (talk about redneck photography here it is!!) I couldn't get it to stand up for the life of me so that push pin is working kinda like duct tape works on everything else! I did this layout for the Sugar Sweet Paper Treat
blog. Hopefully we are going to be up and running again Sept. 15th. Please forgive me for posting now just had to share!! I got the instructions on how to do this pop up from Joy over at Christmas with the Cricut (love their site!!) I thought it might be complicated but actually it was very simple (except I did make some boo boo's that next time I will be aware of!) I'm pretty pleased with the end result and it was soooo much fun to do! Another thing that I thought was pretty cool about this layout is no scraps (other than cardstock) I used every bit of the pattern paper!! That was a very first for me! The paper is by Bo Bunny. All cuts were from the new Sweetheart Cricut Cartridge. The owl is a Martha Stewart punch and the tiny leaves are also from a punch by Marvy. Be sure to check out Sugar Sweet Paper Treat Blog (link on side bar) on Wednesday and see what every one else came up with! Oh, I forgot to tell you what the challenge was duh! We were to use the tree from Zooballo and if you didn't have that cart. just a tree from one that you do have. Well, I have Zooballo but I just got the Sweetheart cart and was dying to use it!!! Thanks for looking and I hope you like!!
