Another Layout!!

Hey everyone! Here is a layout that I finished today for the challenge over at Whimsical Scraps & Bugs. I normally don't combine challenges but this time I'm also using this for next weeks Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog. I can't give you any details on the challenge yet since it's not posted but you won't want to miss it!! WSB challenge is actually not due till Sunday but if everything goes like we plan we will be out most of the weekend. So I'm posting now to be on the safe side! The WSB challenge this time was a vintage inspiration ad challenge. I had a hard time going the vintage route so I went with the color theme. I absolutely love Basic Grey's June bug line!! I was only able to get my hands on a few sheets for now but hopefully this weekend I will have the whole paper pack!!! I used George And Basic Shapes to cut my 2 circles. I cut the name Dallas from a ceral box using Storybook and then covered with pattern paper. The flip flops were cut from Life's A Beach and the tag was cut from Tags, Bags, Boxes & More. The flowers I used on the flip flops are prima. I don't remember who the diamond gems are made by but I know I got them at HL. The Ladybug and the other flowers are by Keepsake (they came from the Dollar Store). Since I'm posting early this gives you a chance to head on over to our blog and play along! We would love to have you!!! This challenge was fun so be sure to head over and see what the other DT members create. Be sure to sign up and follow our blog! The other DT members are great and Crystal always comes up with some neat challenges!! Sorry to leave this for last but I can say the same great things about Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog!! If your not a follower of these two challenge blogs be sure to sign up and play along!! Thanks for looking and let me know what cha think!!

Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Tri Shutter Birthday Card!

Yup, it's that time again!! It's Lindsay's Stamp & Stuff day!! This is my first time at making a Tri Shutter card so go easy! I got the instructions from Split Coast Stampers. They have the best tutorials! Our friends little boys birthday is coming up soon and I thought this would be a great image to use for this weeks card. The paper is from DCWV All About Boys stack. I colored my image with prisma pencils and then put a coat of Mod Podge over it (I don't know what's up with me but it seems like everything I do I want to add Mod Podge!) The scallop oval and plain oval are cut from my nesties using my cuttlebug. I used George and Basic Shapes to cut the star and the sentiment is from Scrappy Cats. If you haven't seen Lindsays digi stamps before you really need to check them out! She's got a sale going to the end of the month for every $5 you spend you get a free stamp so you better hurry up this months about gone!! Also, again this week the hunt for the free digi stamp is still going on so be sure to check out all the other DT members to see who has it!! Plus you get to see all their great designs using Lindsay's stamps! Thanks for looking and I would love to know what cha think!!

52 Sketches...52 Weeks layout - Sky Coaster!

Hey ya'll! Hope everyone's week is going great! I took Kyle yesterday to get his drivers permit and yay he passed!! So, anyone living in North Alabama I'm giving you fair warning now my son is driving!! I may use my E to cut out Driver In Training BEWARE and put on my back window! What cha think!?! We let him drive into town this evening and my hearts still racing away! It's still so hard to believe he's 15! The years are just flying by! These are more pictures from our vacation. I used sketch #30 over at 52 Sketches...52 Weeks. Sky Coaster is cut using the Mini Monogram cricut cartridge. The flowers are prima and the buttons are just from my stash and the flourish is cut from Home Decor. The arrows are hand cut using a Hot Off The Press template. The tag is cut from Tags, Bags, Boxes & More cartridge. I believe the paper is by Flair Designs (I meant to check before throwing out the little stripes that are on the bottom but I forgot!) I'm just not so sure that I'm happy with the way this layout turned out...looking at the DT's example's that they did sure makes mine seem so blah! Would love to hear what you think! Thanks for stopping by my blog and I hope you come back!! I'll be posting my Lindsay card probably later on tonight so stay tuned!!!

Life's A Beach - Beach Bum!

I've been dying to start scraping our beach pictures but at the same time I've had no motivation going! Yesterday I came across Steph's blog Scrap Sketch and she had posted her Friday challenge and I liked the sketch so that helped give me a jump start (I need jump starts quite often hee hee!!) This is a picture of my son "attempting" to lay out and get some sun!! He argued he didn't need any sun block (but clearly you can tell he's not been in the sun much this summer lol) anyway, Cody (son of the family that went with us) squirted a big glob down his stomach so he was forced to rub it in!! I used Life's A Beach for the title, wave, and beach ball. Patterned paper used (which you probably can't tell much since the pictures are covering most of it up) is by Karen Foster "Water Fun Collage" and Flair Designs "Hit The Beach Collection". The ribbon is by Paper Studio. I've had that ribbon for a while and couldn't believe how great it matches!! My plan is to try to get all my vacation pictures done before I start scrapping anything else (we shall see how well I stick to my plan!) I hope you don't get sick of the beach theme before I'm done!! Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!!

Lindsay's Stamp Stuff DT - Strawberry Jam

Can you believe I'm actually posting two x's in one day! This don't happen very often!! For this card I used Lindsay's Strawberry Jam digi stamp and colored with my prisma pencils. I have a funny story I would like to share about making this card! I found this saying "Life's Receipe" in one of my cookbooks one day when I was searching for something new to try. I thought it would look pretty cool if I burnt the edges to give it the vintage look. Well, let me tell you I can't tell you how many times I had to print this before I got it right! The first few tries it would burn maybe a letter or so out of a word, one time I was just about to do it right and the neighbor went by and blew the horn I looked up and waved and when I looked back down poof it was just about burnt up!! I had another neighbor across the street looking at me kinda strange like I was burning some kind of secret notes or receipts I didn't want no one to see! I'd love to know what he told his wife when she got home hee hee!! But finally I did it!! I had to hand cut the wooden spoon and fork (yes that's what they are if you couldn't tell ha ha!) that was a challenge all by itself! I forgot to mention I used mod podge over my image to give it a shine. I love this digi stamp of Lindsay's and it's only $1! She still has a special going till the end of July for every $5 you spend you get a free stamp so hurry before you miss out! Be sure to check out the other DT's blog's and see which one has the freebie for the week!! Click "here" for the link to everyone's blog!!

Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog - Magnolia

Hey everyone! It seems like FOREVER since I've been able to post anything!! I can really tell I'm getting old now!! The vacation we took has literally wore me out!! We just lost sooo much sleep that I don't know if I will ever catch up! I also want to say I'm sorry for not getting to everyone's blog and commenting like I want to. I just haven't had the energy to do anything! I missed a few of my challenges while we were gone and I didn't like doing that! Here is a card I made for the Scrappy Frogs Challenge blog due tomorrow. The challenge was to use a Magnolia image. I don't own any of these personally but I sure wished I could buy them all they are just sooo cute!! This image was given to me and I'm embarassed to say I can't tell you who it's from. I'm sooo sorry I had several people send me some of these and didn't keep track of who sent what. But thank you sooo much I really love all the images that I received!! I colored her with my prisma pencils. I used a button from my stash to add to the center of the flower she's holding and added some stickles. The ribbon is also from my stash I belive it came from HL. The sentiment is a Studio G stamp. Be sure to check out the other DT's cards to see their take on the challenge!!!

I'm Back!!!!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you know I'm back from the beach!! We had a blast but boy I am exhausted!!! I used tons of sun screen so I'm not to bad burnt. I took lots of pictures and I've already got ideas swirling around in my head but it will probably take me a few days to recover before I can do anything! I'm trying to catch up on all my email while I was away (that might take me till tomorrow lol) We were going to stay till Sunday but we did just about everything there was to do so we decided to head back today. It's sooo good to be home! I hope everyone had a great week! Hope to have something new to post soon!!

Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog - Under The Sea - Life's A Beach

Hey ya'll! Our challenge this time over at Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog was to use Under The Sea as our theme. Well, this is page 2 of a double layout (the first one is a few post down). I used Lifes a Beach for all the cuts and lots of stickles! I'm just loving this cartridge! I'm also super excited because we are heading to the beach either tomorrow or first thing Saturday morning (Yay!!!) I plan on taking tons of pictures (hopefully, my bunch hates their picture made!) so I can come home and have an excuse to play with this cartridge some more! We were suppose to leave out Monday but everyone is having a fit to go ahead and leave (which is really stressing me out I hate to be rushed!!) I will be gone all next week (unless something changes). I hope everyone has a wonderful week. Thanks for looking and let me know what you think!! The challenge hasn't been posted on the Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog yet but be sure tomorrow to go check out all the other DT members projects.

Smile - Stamping Solutions Cartridge

Hey ya'll! I had a chance today to play with the new Stamping Solution Cartridge and it's another one I'm going to fall in love with (I love all my cartridges!!) Isn't this owl just the cutest?? Actually the owl, flower, and leave (whatever you call it lol) is all from the stamping cart. I used my SU punches for the the scallop circle and the two inner circles. Smile is a studio G stamp. I used my cuttlebug and a friskars plate called lines for the solid green cardstock and I also embossed the dark brown with the circle embossing folder for the cuttlebug. This is also the sketch on Mojo Monday. I just love this weeks sketch! I really hope this post is making sense I'm suppose to be packing (will give more details in a later post tonight) and trying not to get caught playing on the computer hee hee!! Thanks for looking and I will have another post later on tonight for the Scrappy Frogs Challenge tomorrow so be sure to come back and check it out it's part 2 of the Lifes A Beach Layout!

Whimsical Scraps & Bugs DT challenge

Hey ya'll! Hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend! We sure did!! Our challenge this time over at Whimsical Scraps & Bugs was to create anything (layout or card) and use any cartridge that has animals. Well, I haven't had much time to play with my new cartridge Life's A Beach since I have gotten it. So I decided I would use it to create this layout! Everything is cut from LAB. I used stickles, googly eyes, and some gems I had in my stash to help bring everything to life! I'm posting this a little early but I will not be home in the morning! Be sure to check out what all the other DT members have made!! Thanks for stopping by and I would love to know what you think!

Just wanted to tell everyone Happy 4th of July!!!

Hey ya'll! I know it's not offically the 4th yet but it's almost midnight here and I was scared I may not get a chance to post tomorrow! I hope everyone has a very safe and fun 4th of July! We are going to a friends house for a BBQ. Well, my son has offically had his first so called date!! Me and my husband took him and his girlfriend to the movies tonight!! We saw Transformers 2 and they saw Public Enemy (he would have died if we had went and seen the same movie as them!) He's 15 and it's just so hard to believe that it won't be long and he will be driving and dating without us (Yikes!!!) He is just growing up way to fast for me! I was proud of him tonight he was the perfect little gentlemen! Transformers was a great movie but boy was it LOUD!! My ears are still ringing! I finally got a chance today to play with my Life's A Beach cart. I can't decide if I should post it or not because I totally scraplifted it!! I can honestly say the person I scraplifted from did wayyy better than I did!! But I did have fun playing around with the cuts. I received my other cart that I ordered today - Stamping. I haven't had a chance to do anything with it yet but I really think I'm going to love this cart!! I've got a cake in the oven and it's just about time to go check on it but again I wish everyone a Happy 4th of July!! Hugs!

Lindsay's Daffodil In a Jar Thank you card!

Hey ya'll! Just wanted to share a card that I've made using Lindsay's Daffodil In a jar digi stamp. I colored the image using my prisma pencils. On the jar I added glossy accents but on the daffodils I used mod podge just to give them a shine (not sure if it's noticeable in the picture) The paper is by My Minds Eye and the sentiment is a Studio G. I stamped the sentiment using a die cut from my cuttlebug. The ribbon is just some scrap that I've had left over from other projects and I can't remember where it's from or who its by. Lindsay has a special going all thru the month of July for every $5 you spend you get a free stamp!! And speaking of free be sure to check out all the other great DT members because one of them is giving away a free stamp!! Click here for the links to all of their blogs!! Thanks for stopping by and let me know what cha think!
