Birthday layout!

Hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day weekend. Things here are still not good. We did get to visit with Steve's wife Gina and their son Austin last night. They are being strong and seem to be dealing with this tragady much better than I expected (which is great) Last night would have been our eating out night and man how we missed him even more! It's just going to take time to adjust not being able to be around him! Anyway, on to the layout! I did this layout on Friday night and just now felt like posting it. Me and Winston have the same birthday and this was our last birthday. We was camping with some friends of ours and they bought us a birthday cake and we grilled out. We had such a blast! The cake was from a templete I found online and I cut it out by hand. I had a hard time coming up with a title so I just used a stamp I had and stamped the word Memories (that's what they are anyway, memories!) Added some prisma flowers and buttons. I'm not sure if I like this layout or not! It's seems really loud and cluttered but I'm leaving it as it is! Let me know what you think. I love getting comments! I want to thank everyone for taking the time to visit my little blog and leave me all the sweet comments. It's always exciting to me and every one left has always made me smile, so thank you! Still keep praying for Steve's family and for us. This is our first time to lose someone so close. I just wished the pain in my heart would stop hurting sooo bad.

So very sad...

We lost one of our best friends yesterday in a plane crash. He had just finished a air show and was heading home. Our lives will never be the same and he will be greatly missed not just by us but by all that knew him. Please say a prayer for his wife and son. I could go on and on how special and loveable he was but right now the tears just can't stop. I was hoping this morning it would be a little better but no such luck. I hurt for his wife, his son, my husband and son (who are completely crushed) and of course me. We are still just in great shock. So if you have time say a prayer for us please.

I used my nesties for the scallop circle. I'm not sure where the sentiment came from (I won it in a rak!!) The little silver studs I purchased at HL. Whimsical Scraps & Bugs DT Challenge 17

Hello everyone! Hope everyones week is going great! I'm SO ready for Friday!! But it always seems like I'm ready for Friday! On this challenge we were asked to do a color challenge using the colors above. So, I decided to do a layout! We were also asked to used the cuttlebug but I just noticed that detail as I was getting ready to post this (oops!) For this layout I used the Graphically Speaking cartridge for my cuts. I went a little crazy with the stickles on my fish and I also added some to my sun. I had so many ideas for this layout that I gave myself a headache and just stopped!! It still seems like it needs more, maybe a title? Oh well, I'm pleased with it for now I may go back later when my heads not hurting so bad and add a lil somethin somethin! I forgot to add that I used glossy accents for the eyes of the fish. I decided to type out my journaling this time haven't done that in a while! Whimsical Scraps & Bugs are looking for new DT members if anyones interested head on over and get the details! Hope you like!

SSPT Challenge - Baby Fairy Card

Well, I got time after all to play a little this afternoon! Here is my card for the SSPT challenge. The image I got online and colored with my prisma pencils (still learning and need lots of practice on this!) The flower is from Graphically Speaking and I hand cut the stem. The leaves are from Martha Stewart punch. I used the Swiss Dots to emboss the flower. The button is from my stash. I also used stickles on the the wings of the fairy and the dots on the baby. You can't tell in the picture but I used my scor pal and scored two lines close to the fold. I can't remember where the sentiment is from and it reads Your precious baby so tiny and new, Is a Miracle of love, From God to you. Thanks for looking and I hope you like!!!

Just a little note!

This will be the first post that I can think of without any projects!!! It's been a week since I've posted anything and didn't want anyone to think I've fell on the face of the earth! (ok, not that I'm saying anyones missing me hee hee) I haven't had a chance to do much this week so hopefully this upcoming week will be better!! I have made some things I didn't have to time to take pictures of before I gave them out. I made some money card holders for graduation for my mom. I also made my first wallet card (that was fun!) I do have a card made for one of my challenges but can't post it yet its not time (really pleased with this one can't wait to show it!).I have two more challenges that I've got to work on and two more ATC swaps. So, this week I have got to busy!! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Mothers Day Card

Well, I have waited to the very last minute to do my Mother's Day cards! This one I did for my mom and I still like doing one for my MIL. Which is not good since I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to sit up to do another one!! For this card I used a MoJo Monday sketch. Just love their sketches! I used the Home Decor cartridge for the flowers and leaves. The sentiment is computer generated and used by Stampin Up circle & scallop punch. The ribbon is some that I've had in my stash. Hope you like it(and my mom to!) TFL!!

ATC Swap - Fishing

I've signed up for another swap on the Cricut MB for four different groups. This one is for the fishing group. I designed my bobbin in DS. The stamps are Close to My Heart colored with my prisma pencils. I added some silver stickles to the fish (not showing up to well in the photo) I then used fishing line and tied a knot from it to the fish drawing a little hook by its mouth. Any feedback on these will be helpful if you think I should add something or not. Oh forgot to add when I was doing these I wanted to see if the red went on the top or bottom of the bobbin but DH had the tackle box in the back of his truck. When he got home he told me I have it backwards! Oh well, I think you can tell it's a bobbin!!

Design Team Challenges & Mother's Day Gifts!!

This week has been a little hectic for me and trying to squeeze in challenges and Mother's Day gifts I've decided to use my gifts for the challenges (hope that makes sense!) The first clock is for my mom and I'm going to use it as my challenge for Whimsical Scraps & Bugs! The challenge this time was to create a card, layout, or alter item that showcases why you scrap. Their is many reasons why I got hooked on this hobby but I guess if I had to pick the main one it would be for my son. Not that he cares right now but later on down the road I think it will be something he can cherish long after I'm gone. For this clock which if I would have had room I probably would have titled it "If I Could Stop Time" but since I didn't I went with Adore because that is how we feel when we think of Kyle! I bought my clocks from Fred's (not the ones from Wal-Mart) I used George, Calligraphy, Home Decor, and Storybook for all my cuts. I added some stickles in the center of the flowers. This is actually the second clock I altered and my favorite one. I wouldn't near as nervous as I was on the first one!! The second clock I'm using for my Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog project. Our challenge this time was to create anything round (that's how the clock idea got started hee hee) I used the same cartridges as the first clock except the flower is a template from Hot Off the Press with a brad in the center! I'm giving this clock to my mother in law. Be sure to check out both Whimsical Scraps & Bugs & Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog to see what all the other great design team members come up with. Let me know what you think and if you think I should just buy them something instead!!

Cutie

I'm still working on challenges! I am a very slowwwww scrapbooker hee hee! It takes me forever to pick out anything! I had this picture of Kyle laid out to do and when I started going thru all my paper would you believe I just didn't have ANYTHING that suited me! So I just decided to use white cardstock! Having a boy sometime is very hard lol! I really want to use flowers and all girlie colors but you just can't do it on some! I used my Hot Off the Press template for the heart and I stamped the word cutie. I used my prisma pencils to shade around the letters some just to give it a little character! I used a red poka dot brad for the "i" I may have to continue tomorrow on the rest of the challenges I can barely keep my eyes open! TFL

Bind It All notebook

Hello again! I'm still working on Robyn's challenges (I guess you can tell I'm really, really far behind!!) I've had sooo many interuptions and things going wrong that I almost gave up doing anything!! But I have managed to finish the second challenge. The challenge this time was to find something in your stash that you never use. Robyn used her bind it all and I thought that would be great for me to drag out to since I never use it! The video was great that they demonstrated but I don't know I still just don't how to line up the holes! I ordered the mothers day special that Provo Craft offered and received my Jukebox and my two cartridges yesterday (Woo Hoo) I used Home Decorfor the flower and leaves. The L is just a stamp I stamped on brown cardstock and cut out. TFL!! Off to see what challenge 3 is!!

Challenges!! Challenges!! and more Challenges!!

Hello everyone! Happy National Scrapbooking Day!! I've been playing along with Robyn (The Pink Stamper) today trying to meet her challenges!! So far behind its not funny but at least she is giving 48 hours to complete them. I'm going to complete 2 challenges with this layout one for Robyn and the other one is for Sugar Sweet Paper Treats. For Robyns challenge it was to do anything using the color brown with a pastel color and for SSPT's challenge we are to use flowers as our main focus and something has to be 3D. I used my templates that I got from Hot Off the Press to create the flowers, tag, and swirls. The flowers are really time consuming but are really fun to make! Well, back to some more challenges!! Busy, busy, busy!! TFL
